Parliament gave a final reading to the bill regarding the guilt admission agreement. If the court accepts the given agreement, the person to blame can have the punishment limit reduced by one third, IPN reports.
Besides the guilt admission agreement, the bill stipulates the legal agreement of public interest that will be applied only to legal entities for committing such offenses as tax evasion among enterprises, institutions and organizations, money laundering, active corruption, influence peddling and bribery.
Trying based on evidence collected at the investigation stage, which is another simplified procedure, will take place only if the offenders fully accept the charges, ask for the collection of new evidence or, if the proofs accumulated at the investigation stage, are sufficient to prove the blame of the accused. In this case, the punishment limit will be cut by one fourth.
The legislative initiative was drafted by the Ministry of Justice. According to the sponsors, the implementation of such a law will enable to reduce the heavy workload of courts of law and to increase the case examination speed.
