The best teachers will be awarded in the final of the Teacher of the Year contest on September 30. The teachers were invited to go to the Arena Chisinau at 11:30am, IPN reports.

There are nine winners in three categories: Educator of the Year; Teacher of the Year, Professor of the Year. In a news conference, Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun said that about 4,500 teachers of schools, vocations schools and universities are expected to take part.

The quotas were distributed for each district. There were chosen also the teachers who became involved in the designing of textbooks, holding of exams, grading of test papers in Baccalaureate exams, those who voluntarily contributed to the work of the educational system outside teaching.

According to the official, the Ministry Education and Research compiled a final list of participants in the event taking into account the recommendations of district education divisions.
