The manager of the national U-21 football team of Moldova Danut Stelian Oprea announced the final lineup for the encounter with Belgium of the qualifying round of the 2017 UEFA European Championship. The match will be played at the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau on March 23, IPN reports.
Among the 20 players are goalkeepers Radu Matu (Milsami Orhei) and Cristian Avram (Academia Chisinau), fullbacks Radu Rogac and Ion Burlacu (both Zaria Balti), Andrei Macritskii and Sergei Svinarenco (both Sheriff Tiraspol), and Alexandru Starysh (Zimbru Chisinau).
The halfbacks are: David Andronic and Nicolae Tsivirenco (both Speranta Nisporeni), Artiom Rozgoniuc, Valerii Macriyskii and Vadim Paireli (all Sheriff Tiraspol), Alexandru Dulghier (Milsami Orhei), Dan Taras (Petrocub-Hancesti), and Ion Cararus (GD Peniche, Portugal).
The summoned strikers are: Eugeniu Rebeja (Sheriff Tiraspol), Dan Spataru (Zimbru Chisinau), Ion Ursu (Saxan Ceadar-Lunga), Alexandru Boiciuc (Rapid CFR Suceava, Romania), and Ion Dragan (Speranta Nisporeni).
In the qualifying round of the 2017 UEFA European Under 21 Championship, Moldova plays in a group with the Czech Republic, Belgium, Montenegro, Malta, and Latvia. After six matched played, Moldova ranks last in the group with 4 points. The Czech Republic is a leader with 11 points. It is followed by Belgium with 9 points.
