Final election outcome will be made public Friday
The final results of the July 29 parliamentary elections will be announced on Friday, July 31. With 98.3% of the votes counted by 10.00, PCRM holds the lead with 45.1% of the ballot. It is followed by the PLDM with 16.4% of the vote, the PL – with 14.4%, the PD – with 12.6% and the AMN with 7.4%, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The PSD and PPCD gained by 1.9% of the ballot, while the Ecologist Party “Green Alliance” – 0.4%, the president of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Eugeniu Stirbu said at a news conference.
Thus, the PCRM will have 48 MPs in the legislative body, the PLDM – 17, the PL – 15, the PDM – 13, while the AMN – 8.
The information from the polling places set up abroad and from those located in Dubasari and Straseni has not been yet processed. The polling stations from abroad are to submit the election results to the CEC within 48 hours of the end of the voting process.
Under the Election Code, the CEC is obliged to announce the final election results within 96 hours after the polling places are closed. The Central Election Commission will send the results to the Constitutional Court, which is to declare the elections valid or invalid during 10 days.
The website alegeri.md, which provided updated information about the election outcome, was attacked by hackers last night. The problems were removed. The information storage system was not affected, Eugeniu Stirbu said.
