Film director and scriptwriter Silviu Fusu, laureate of a number of national and international awards and a member of the Theater Union of Moldova and Romania, passed away at the age of 69, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Culture.
Silviu Fusu was born in 1953 in Parcova village of Edineț district. In 1975, he graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the State University of Moldova, while in 1983 – the Russian Institute of Theater Arts.
He was the artistic director of the Epic Youth Theater (1984-1985) and artistic director of the Epic Theater of Ethnography and Folklore “Ion Creangă” (1987-1990, 1996-2003). He also served as the director general of the Romanian Theater Company “Spațiul mioritic” of Ploiești (1991) and the director general of the Theater Center “Mesagerii lui Zamolxis” of Bucharest (1993-2003).
He put on plays in theaters in the Republic of Moldova, Belarus, Canada, Romania, Russia and Ukraine. As a scenarist, film director and scenographer, he implemented over 200 projects.
The Ministry of Culture expresses sincere condolences to the grieving relatives and those who knew him and appreciated his talent.
