Filip at meeting with Mogherini: We will be vigilant for possible external attempts to become involved

The year 2018 is an electoral one and we are not only motivated to make effort to show the benefits of the Association Agreement to the people, but will also be very vigilant for any possible external attempts to influence things and to become involved, Prime Minister Pavel Filip stated in a meeting with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini on the sidelines of the meeting of the Moldova – EU Association Council in Brussels, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, the Premier said the complete implementation of the Association Agreement is a priority of the Government and many results have been achieved until now, and the authorities are decided to fully implement the Agreement. He assured that Moldova is interested in developing the cooperation with the EU so as to step up the fight against propaganda and to consolidate the mass media and civil society.

The Transnistrian conflict was another subject for discussion. According to Pavel Filip, the Government is confident that the progress made in settling the dispute will continue given the results obtained during the past two years and the contribution made by the European partners.

She encouraged the Moldovan authorities to continue to do reforms, saying the EU will offer the assistance needed to implement projects designed to improve the living conditions of the Moldovan citizens.
