The district electoral council of single-member constituency No. 36 Ștefan Vodă will reexamine the file of independent candidate Alexandr Topolenko whose registration was earlier rejected. A decision to this effect was taken by the Central Election Commission in its January 22 meeting, IPN reports.
The electoral council ascertained that of the 564 signatures presented by the candidate, 65 were accompanied by incorrect personal data and these were invalidated. Consequently, with 499 valid signatures, the file of Alexandr Topolenko was rejected given that the minimum ceiling for registration is 500 signatures.
Central Election Commission member Vladimir Șerban said some of the invoked violations can be doubted and asked to reexamine the lists.
The district electoral council Ștefan Vodă is to reassess the lists during the shortest period of time, taking into account all the objections and recommendations of the CEC.
