Filat to report on Visa Liberalization Plan in Brussels
On December 13, Prime Minister Vlad Filat will present the first report on the implementation of the second phase of the Moldova-EU Visa Liberalization Action Plan in Brussels, Foreign Minister Iurie Leanca announced in the December 4 meeting of the Governmental Commission for European Integration, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the Government, the minister asked the central public institutions involved in this process to concentrate their efforts so that the report be complete at the meeting of Vlad Filat and the European Commissioner for Home Affairs Cecilia Malmstrom. A mission of the EU will come to Chisinau to set the period for the liberalization of the visa regime based on this report.
Attending the meeting, Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar spoke about the last round of talks on the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, saying that three more rounds will be held in 2013.
Vlad Filat said that 2013 is a very important year as the Association Agreement with the EU is to be signed at the Eastern Partnership Summit that will take place in Vilnius next autumn. The Agreement envisions the creation of the Free Trade Area and the completion of the implementation of the Visa Liberalization Action Plan.
