Prime Minister Vlad Filat will hand in the Cabinet’s resignation on March 8. The Lib-Dems said those who drink champagne on this occasion should not consider themselves winners, Info-Prim Neo reports. “I will tender the Government’s resignation on Friday, March 8. This is not an occasion for the brass band to play. Those who will drink champagne and will listen to the brass band should not consider themselves winners. If somebody started to drink champagne, I recommend them not to hurry,” Vlad Filat said after the last meeting of the Government. The Premier said only the head of state has the right to put forward candidates for premiership and it depends on him how soon the consultations with the parliamentary groups will start. Vlad Filat said that the National Political Council of the Liberal Democratic Party will convene on March 10 to decide how to act further. He promised he will make public information about Banca de Economii and the whole banking system in a period. The next meeting of the Cabinet will take place on March 13. Under the Constitution, after resignation the Government only manages the public affairs, until a new Cabinet is formed. It adopts noformal decisions.
