Filat thinks Communists could also field candidate for President

Vlad Filat, the president of the Liberal-Democratic Party, thinks there is a possibility that more than one candidate might participate in the repeat presidential election on January 15. “There's a possibility we'll see more than one candidate, because the Communists for instance could also field one. We'll find out that shortly”, stated Vlad Filat after the Alliance's meeting on Tuesday. Parliament today scheduled repeat presidential elections for January 15. Earlier, the Alliance's presidential nominee Marin Lupu told a press briefing he was pulling out of the race to open the possibility for identifying a candidate that would have the endorsement of 61 parliamentarians, the minimum required to elect a President.
