Filat talks with Basescu over phone
Prime Minister Vlad Filat had a telephone conversation with Romanian President Traian Basescu on September 29. According to the Government's press service, the two officials discussed the bilateral relations and the latest developments in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Vlad Filat thanked the Romanian authorities for the support provided to Moldova in cleaning up the consequences of this summer's floods. He said the Government recently allocated 103.5 million lei for constructing homes for the flood victims from Cotul Morii, Nemteni, Obileni and Sarateni villages of Hancesti district and another 35 million lei for building the infrastructure.
The Moldovan Premier also said the executive pledged to approve a bill that provides for the allocation of social benefits to about 521,000 pensioners and 30,000 socially deprived families, an additional 100 million lei for subsidizing agriculture and 36.6 million lei more for education.
For his part, Traian Basescu approved of Moldovan authorities' efforts to make progress in implementing reforms and on the path to European integration. The two officials pleaded for the development of the bilateral relations.
