Filat on ministerial dismissals: Results were not so good
Alexei Roibu and Mihail Sleahtitchi were dismissed from the posts of Interior Minister and Education Minister, respectively, because they didn't deliver the expected results, Prime Minister Vlad Filat told an evening show on Pro TV.
“When I had the occasion to evaluate the work of the minister, I did it. And when you see problems, you must act. I thought those replacements were necessary because we need a different approach that could deliver results at the level of actions rather that at the level of statements. I'd rather not give details about what exactly dissatisfied me. I'll just say that the results in those areas were not so good, and this is why we needed a change. We need to install competent people who are willing to make changes for the better”, said Vlad Filat.
The Prime Minister said that the government is now going through a very responsible period when the legislation is being implemented. “You will see progress both at the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Education as well as at other institutions”, promised Filat.
He added that until the end of the government's term further reforms will take place, including at the Prosecutor General's Office, at the National Anti-corruption Center and others.
