Filat confers with Timoshenko in Yalta
Moldova’s Prime Minister Vlad Filat and his Ukrainian counterpart Yulia Timoshenko discussed the possibility of removing the barriers to the free movement of people and the obstacles hindering the transportation of Moldovan good through Ukraine at a bilateral meeting in Yalta.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Summit of the Council of CIS Heads of Government, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the Government, Vlad Filat informed Yulia Timoshenko about the changes that took place in Moldova. He said the situation is complicated, but it can be overcome as there is will.
The two officials agreed on the necessity of resuming the work of the Moldovan-Ukrainian intergovernmental commission.
In Yalta, Vlad Filat has also met with the First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaidjan Iagub Eiubov. The interlocutors highlighted the necessity of developing the Moldovan-Azeri cooperation relations at the political, economic and social levels.
Vlad Filat announced that a monument to the former President of Azerbaijan Gheidar Aliev will be unveiled in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia on December 23 and voiced hope the event will be attended by Azeri officials.
