Filat: Communists cannot return to power after this year’s elections

The Communists do not have chances of returning to power after the parliamentary elections of this yearend. Given the anti-state behavior of the Communist Party, its leader Vladimir Voronin risks suffering the fate of Viktor Yanukovych, chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat said in the program “Politics” on TV7 channel, IPN reports.

Vlad Filat said there is yet time until the parliamentary elections, but the people until then will see the results of the actions taken by the current government since 2009. These actions will lead to higher pensions and salaries, creation of new jobs and development of infrastructure. “Over 10 billion lei has been allocated this year for developing infrastructure. Practically in every district, there are carried out infrastructure, road and hospital repair and other works. They count the geese in autumn,” he stated.

The Liberal-Democratic leader also said that the people’s confidence in the political class diminished also because of the public arguments between the components of the previous ruling alliances. The strategic objective of the current coalition is to restore confidence so that the people go to the polls and vote consciously, based on true information, not on the manipulation of the opposition.

Vlad Filat said that after the Association Agreement with the EU is signed and ratified, the Moldovan authorities will start to design the plan of action for becoming an EU accession candidate.

He underlined that the Communist Party must return to normality and must listen to the people from districts. Otherwise, the Communist leader may repeat the fate of the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych.
