The Vilnius Summit will be a great victory for Moldova. It will be an important stage for the country, Democratic leader Marian Lupu and Liberal-Democratic leader Vlad Filat said in a program on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.

“For Moldova, it means a qualitatively new level in the relations with the EU. It enables to have access to financial resources, while the Free Trade Agreement means access to a market of 500 million consumers with payment capacity,” said Vlad Filat. According to the former Premier, Moldova will have to ensure products of a high quality and accessible prices. “After the signing of the Association Agreement, the European integration process will not end. We will prepare the country for applying for the status of accession candidate.”

The Liberal-Democratic leader said he expects that the Europeans will have a common position on the liberalization of the visa regime at the Vilnius Summits.

Marian Lupu said the Vilnius Summit represents a great victory of the sovereign and independent state Moldova because this event offers new prospects for establishing new relations. “Vilnius marks the beginning of a new stage in the relations with the EU, which later opens the way to accession. The Free Trade Agreement will enable us to export goods to the EU without paying customs duties. A free trade regime between Moldova and the EU will make our country more attractive for the EU as regards investments and production. The European investments mean business culture and new business relations,” he stated.

According to the former Speaker, the closer is Moldova to the EU, the harsher is the geopolitical struggle. All kinds of methods are employed in order to tense the situation before the Vilnius Summit.

The Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit will take place on November 29. At the summit Moldova is to initial the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement.
