A student of the Technological College in Chisinau was taken to hospital after beaten in front of the education institution. The incident happened on February 17 during classes. Echimie Cotelea, PR specialist at the General Police Department, has told Info-Prim Neo that the fight involved two students of the college and the brothers of a female student. The case is being investigated. Witnesses to the tussle said the two students were asked out on the pretext they are called to the principal. When they went out, four young persons attacked them. Allegedly, the students made critical comments after the girl had posted pictures of her on the Internet. College principal Ludmila Cube confirmed the incident, but said that only one student was attacked and later hospitalized. An investigation is under way. “The girl will be suspended from college. She could be expelled if it is proven that she provoked the fight,” Ludmila Cube said. “If the young men turned 18 they will be held accountable according to the Administrative Code. If not, their parents will be the ones to be punished,” said Marina Popovici, the head of the Minors and Vices Division of the Interior Ministry’s Prevention Department. According to the General Police Department, the young persons involved in the fight are liable to fine of 200 to 500 lei or administrative arrest of up to 15 days.
