Fifty more trolleybuses to be assembled in Chisinau in 2013

A number of 50 trolleybuses will be assembled in Chisinau next year. The Chisinau Electric Transport Company signed a contract with the Minsk plant Belkommunmash in this respect. The Chisinau administration will also buy a last-generation trolleybus from the plant, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the December 3 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, Electric Transport Company head Gheorghe Morgoci said that a delegation consisting of heads of municipal companies, district heads and deputy mayors paid a working visit to Belarus last week. Within the visit, the Electric Transport Company signed a contract, under which the parts for assembling the new trolleybuses will be delivered to Chisinau. Deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu said that a last-generation trolleybus will be brought to Chisinau. It was agreed that it will be purchased at the price of an older model. The municipality purchased 102 trolleybuses from Belkommunmash for a total of €13.7 million. New trolleybuses started to be assembled in Chisinau in summer. A vehicle costs €135,000, by €10,000 less than its price at the Minsk plant. Ten trolleybuses have been assembled until now.
