Fifty Labor Code articles will be modified or supplemented
Six years after the coming into force of the Labor Code, the Government approved a number of amendments and supplements to about 50 articles from it after consulting with employers and trade unions, Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga said on Monday, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
According to the minister, the approved modifications will remove a number of problems in implementing the legislation on employees' rights, when an economic entity modifies the ownership or organizational form, and in negotiating collective work contracts and granting leave. They prevent the discrimination of women, HIV-infected and other persons when they are employed or promoted.
“The amendments and supplements are designed to modernize the Labor Code and make the implementation of the legislation more flexible,” Valentina Buliga said. The modifications will take effect after they are adopted by the Parliament.
