Fifth part of Chisinau buildings cannot yet receive heat

Eleven education institutions in Chisinau’s Rascani district, several medical institutions and about 20% of the houses managed by privatized dwelling owners associations and homebuilding cooperatives have not yet finished the works needed to get ready for the cold season. The information was presented in Monday’s meeting of the Chisinau City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca demanded immediately completing the works so that he could sign the ordinance to open the heating season when the need arises. Tatiana Nagnibeda Tverdohleb, the head of the Division of Education, Science, Youth and Sport, assured all the schools will be ready for the heating season in several days. Termocom director Mihai Cernei said the company can immediately connect the schools and kindergartens as well as the housing stock to the heating system, but the population will not want to as it is not very cold outside. Apa-Canal Chisinau head Constantin Becciev said the apartment buildings that are supplied with heat by the company’s power stations are ready to receive heat. Forecasters say the weather will become warmer. The heating season starts when the thermometers show eight degrees Celsius and below during three consecutive days.
