Fifteen persons died and another 114 were injured in the 101 road accidents that were recorded in Moldova since the beginning of this year. Most of the accidents happened in the municipality of Chisinau – 45. The data were presented by the head of the General Police Inspectorate Viorel Cernăuțeanu at the roundtable meeting “Road safety - pedestrian alive”, IPN reports.
The 45 road accidents that occurred in the capital city resulted in 3 deaths and 55 persons hurt.
The data also show that 43 accidents involving pedestrians ended in seven deaths and 37 persons injured. The 24 cases recorded in the capital city resulted in one death and 25 persons hurt.
In order to improve safety on public roads, the traffic police sent 110 prescriptions and 155 notifications to the responsible institutions, the General Police Inspectorate said.
