The second group cereals, including the corn and sunflower in Gagauzia were totally compromised, the Press Service of the Governor announces. The harvest of first group cereals reached 52 thousand tonnes, which constitutes about a half of last year’s volume. “In light of a 30-35% forecasted volume, the level of 57% against last year’s harvest is considered satisfactory”, Mihail Formuzal said. According to the authorities of Gagauzia, the farmers from the region contributed with 9% to ensuring the food security of Moldova. The areas administrated by Gagauzia constitute 5.46% of country’s territory.
