In 2010, the combined value of the industrial products and services of the Free Economic Zones (FEZs) rose by 43% year on year, to 1.7 billion lei, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a report by the Ministry of Economy it is said that 76.6% of the FEZs' production was exported. Investment in FEZs amounted to $12.3 million in 2010. The number of FEZs employees also rose last year, to 5,177 people. As of January 1, the seven FEZs existing in Moldova accommodated 159 resident companies. Their number reduced after 14 residents either left or were asked to leave for various violations.
