The local administration of Chisinau municipality reduced the number of trolleybuses, buses and minibuses running on routes in connection with the decline in the flow of passengers, IPN reports.
In the ordinary meeting of officials of Chisinau services and subdivisions, the head of the Chisinau Electric Transport Company Gheorghe Morgoci said that 42 trolleybuses were withdrawn from routes. “We will analyze the number of passengers to see if the trolleybuses should be increased in number or not,” he stated.
Director of the Chisinau Urban Bus Company Iacob Capcelea said the number of buses was decreased by seven units from June 1. “When the students take the exams, we will examine the flow of passengers to decide the number of buses for each route apart,” he noted.
As many as 1,400 minibuses will be running on routes in Chisinau municipality from June 1.
