The number of persons hurt in accidents at work in 2010 was lower than a year before. Last year there were reported 370 accidents in the workplace that resulted in 33 deaths and 47 persons seriously injured, state deputy general inspector at the Labor Inspectorate Igor Ciloci has told Info-Prim Neo. Most of the accidents happened in agriculture, constructions, transport and the energy sector. There were cases when employees were hurt in road accidents while on business trips. Among frequent work-related accidents were the fall from height, injury caused by equipment, fall into quarries. Igor Ciloci said many of the accidents at work happen because the employees do not know the security rules. In many cases the equipment is not outfitted with security systems for workers. The 432 accidents at work that occurred in 2009 ended in 39 deaths and 99 persons hurt.
