Fewer minors remain out of school in Chisinau
Twenty-one minors aged between 7 and 16 are out of school in the municipality of Chisinau at present, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Sources in the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, which daily collects information about the situation in preuniversity education institutions, said that seven minors started to attend school during the last week owing to the concerted effort of the teachers and social assistance services. One of them lives in Botanica district, 2 – in Centru district, 4 – in Ciocana district. At the same time, four students of the Boarding School No.2 located in Botanica do to attend school.
Specialists of the Division said that during the last few years no child refused to attend school for reasons of poverty because the municipal authorities provide financial assistance to the deprived families before the start of the new school year. As many as 7,710 children received by 600 lei in school aid this year.
Among the major reasons for school nonattendance are the minors’ refusal to go to school, the departure of the parents abroad, vagrancy and other behavioral deviations, Info-Prim Neo reports.
