Festive meal in Tiraspol costs at least 400 rubles

The Tiraspol residents will spend at least 400 rubles (520 lei) on the festive New Year’s Eve meal. Potatoes, onion, carrots and beet cost 5 rubles (7 lei) on average, while tomatoes and cucumbers – 25 rubles/ kg (33 lei). A liter of milk costs 8-9 rubles (10-12lei), while a kilogram of sour cream – 14 rubles (19 lei). Cow cheese is sold for about 24 rubles (32 lei) a kilogram. Those that do not take account of the astrologists’ advice can purchase meat for about 70 rubles/kg (91 lei). A small leg of pork for meat jelly costs 45 rubles/kg (60 lei), while a kilogram of fat - 25 rubles (33 lei). Ten eggs cost 12 rubles (15 lei), while oil sells for 14 rubles a liter (19 lei). Those that want a richer meal can buy pressed cheese for 60-65 rubles (85 lei) and sausages for 30 to 130 rubles (39-169 lei). Candies cost 35 rubles/kg (45 lei) on average. Four fir tree fairs have been opened in Tiraspol. The trees cost between 50 and 150 rubles (80-200 lei), depending on the height and foliage.
