Festive meal, but no champagne on New Year’s Eve for prisoners

On New Year’s Eve, inmates will be treated to a special meal, but no champagne, Penitentiary Department’s press officer Ana Racu told Info-Prim Neo. In addition, they will be allowed to watch the TV till late.
This week, in jails there have been organized various artistic activities: shows, carols, concerts. Inmates were offered sweets, clothes and footwear. Religious service is done in the penitentiaries' churches.
There are 6,300 inmates, including 400 women, in 17 jails in Moldova.
