The eighteenth edition of the Republican Festival of Ethnic Minorities will be held on Sunday, September 15, in "Stefan cel Mare si Sfant" Public Garden. According to the authorities, the Festival comes to boost interethnic communication and contribute to facilitating civic and socio-cultural integration of national minorities in society, IPN reports.
“Over the years, the Festival brings colour, song, dance and good mood. The participants wearing national dress will parade on the alleys of "Stefan cel Mare si Sfant" public garden. Representatives of ethnic minorities will display their handicrafts at exhibitions and will greet visitors with traditional dishes sharing their cuisine secrets,” a press release of the capital city hall says.
The event will start at 09.30, with laying of flowers at the monument of ruler Stephen the Great and the Holy, and the inauguration of the Festival will take place at 10.00, on the central stage of the Public Garden. Later, guests will be able to visit the improvised mini-pavilions of the ethno-cultural organizations participating in the Ethnic Festival.
During the event, one can visit exhibitions of books, decorative-applied art, paintings, handicrafts and national dress; as well as artistic shows on the alleys of the public garden.
A musical-literary show will start at 11.00 on the main stage of the Festival, with the participation of artistic groups from ethno-cultural organizations. Starting from 3:00 pm, the fanfare of Park Department of Chisinau City Hall will perform on the stage by the fountain.
