Festival held for vulnerable children
Children from across the country are invited to participate in the second edition of the festival for talented children themed “With Small Steps into the Future”, to take place Sunday, 11:00, at the Arts Center Ginta Latina in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Festival, organized ahead on the EU Anti-trafficking Day on October 18, is part of a series of activities held jointly by governmental institutions, international organizations, civil society and the business community to ensure children's rights and protect the children from trafficking in humans.
The organizers said in a press release the festival will feature fashion shows, creation workshops and competitions, presentations of dishes, make-up displays, etc.
The intention of the festival is to raise public awareness of the problems facing the vulnerable children, in particular the so-called orphans – children left without parental care as a result of migration, as well as children placed with residential institutions, who represent the group at risk of becoming victims of trafficking in humans. At the same time, the festival is an opportunity for this children to display their talents, thus encouraging their development and social integration.
The organizers of the Festival are the International Organization for Migration, the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection, Family and Child, the National Society for Social Protection of Minors and Youth, the Rehabilitation Center for Adolescents, and the Women's Association Art Elegant.
