Festival and contest “Silver Chrysanthemum” starts next week

Those who are fond of romantic songs are invited to the Romanian romantic songs festival and contest “Silver Chrysanthemum” that will take place at the National Philharmonic “Sergey Lunkevich” on February 23, 24 and 25, starting at 6pm. The participants in the 22nd contest of the kind entitled “Romantic song that unites us” will be accompanied by the folk music orchestra “Folclor”, directed by conductor Petre Neamtu, IPN reports.

The creation contest will be held on February 23, while the singing contest on February 24. The Laureate Gala will be staged on February 25.

Recitals will be given by the following invitees: Matilda Pascal-Cojocarita, Stefan Cigu and Alina Mavrodin-Vasiliu from Romania, Vladimir Samsonov from Russia, Mihail Muntean and Silvia Goncear from Chisinau.

Entrance to the first two evenings of the festival is free of charge.

The Romanian romantic songs festival and contest “Silver Chrysanthemum” was launched in 1992. In 2012, after 20 editions, the festival was interrupted because of lack of funds and was resumed in 2017.
