Femina Chisinau is the new basketball champion of Moldova among women’s teams. On March 19, Alexandru Shestopal’s team beat ASEM Chisinau 64-44 in the second match of the play-offs, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the first match played on the grounds of ASEM Chisinau, Femina scored a victory by 73-62. Thus, in only several months of the foundation of the club, Femina Chisinau became Moldova’s champion, after wining Moldova’s Cup last December. “It is a great joy. It was a hard year during which we encountered many difficulties, but we fought till the end,” said Femina president Mihai Burciu. This season, two more teams of the Femina Sports Club are successfully competing in the national women’s handball championship and in Romania’s rugby-7 championship.
