The Rascani District Court found a 34-year-old woman guilty of appropriating large amounts of money and sentenced her to nine years behind bars, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the Prosecutor General’s Office. In 2005 and 2006, the woman swindled two persons out of over 126,000 lei on the pretext she wants to purchase apartments in Chisinau. To convince the persons that they will get their money back, the swindler signed certificates whereby she pledged to refund the money. Afterward, the woman changed the place of residence and the mobile phone number. The defrauded persons were not paid their money back. In December 2006, the woman was sentenced to three years in prison for swindle. Those years were added to the current punishment. The decision can be appealed.
