The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini congratulated Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici on the investiture of the new Cabinet, saying the European Union is ready to offer Moldova expertise and support for overcoming the polarized situation it is experiencing, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.
“I have confidence that the executive of Moldova will step up efforts to do key reforms, especially in the justice and financial sectors and for combating corruption, in the interest of all the Moldovan people. There are instruments that can be used to work on the common agenda. The investiture of the new Government is a signal that the implementation of the European principles and the European road will be continued,” Federica Mogherini said in the meeting with Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici, who is in Brussels on a working visit.
The Europeans official said they expect that the Association Agreement between Moldova and the EU will be put into practice swiftly, for the people’s benefit. She noted that the EU reiterates its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova, with a special status for the Transnistrian region, and encourages the intensification of efforts to peacefully resolve the Transnistrian conflict.
Chiril Gaburici noted that the Government of Moldova banks on the support of the foreign partners owing to which Moldova will be able to move on and will thus ensure better living conditions for its people.
