FC Tiraspol suffered the first defeat in the new season. The ‘townspeople’ were beaten by FC Costuleni 1-3 in a match of the sixth stage of the National Football Division. Despite the failure, FC Tiraspol remained at the top of the rankings.
Sheriff Tiraspol can climb to the first spot if they beat Dacia Chisinau in today’s derby.
Milsami Orhei also could have taken the lead, but scored only one point after drawing 1-1 with Rapid Ghidighici. The match ended with a new refereeing dispute. Dissatisfaction was expressed by the Milsami coach Stefan Stoica.
“They found a red card and forgot to whistle for a foul for us. This is a shame for some, especially because they are young. I knew that they wear trousers in Moldova,” said the Romanian coach.
The other matches ended as follows: Zimbru - Dinamo-Auto 0-0, Veris - Speranta 1-0, Olimpia - Academia 3-1.
