FC Tiraspol decided to withdraw from all the national and international competitions. The decision was taken in the general assembly of the club’s administration, it is said on the official website of the team trained by Lilian Popescu, IPN reports.
Thus, FC Tiraspol will take part neither in Europa League nor in the National Division. Its place in the European Cups will be taken by Saxan.
FC Tiraspol won Moldova’s Cup in 2012-2013, when it also won bronze in the National Division. The team from Transnistria had the best performance in the 2013-2014 season, when it finished second the championship.
This season FC Tiraspol ranked fourth. Two more teams withdrew last yearend. These are FC Costuleni and Veris.
