The National Health Insurance Company has announced that the technical glitches related to the payment of the mandatory health insurance premium in fixed amount through post offices have been dealt with, IPN reports.

Now that the faults were removed, the health insurance premium can be paid through the governmental electronic payment service Mpay. This is accessible at post offices and through any device connected to the Internet, such as a personal computer, telephone or tablet PC.

The mandatory health insurance premium in fixed amount is paid by persons who do not work and do not form part of the categories insured by the state. By March 31, 2018, the persons who insure themselves individually can purchase a health policy at discounts of 50% and 75% of the price of the mandatory health insurance policy that remained at 4,056 lei.

In the case of salary earners, the health insurance premium is paid in the form of percentage contribution from the salary and other remunerations – 4.5% by the employer and 4.5% by the insured person.
