A man from Hâncești district was sentenced to 20 years in jail for raping his daughter aged 13. The 51-year-old man didn’t admit his guilt, IPN reports, quoting the Prospector General’s Office.

In the autumn of 2015, the man sexually abused his minor daughter repeatedly, threatening her with death if she told someone about what happened. While the girl’s mother and the elder daughter were working in another district, the victim with the youngest brother were in the father’s care.

The truth came out at the end of 2015, when the father maltreated the girl’s mother and also the girl. The girl then wrote a message to her elder brother who worked abroad and told him about her experiences. The girl’s mother reported the man to the police.

The sentence is not definitive and can be challenged in a higher court.
