Father of two killed in fire caused by smoldering cigarette

Relatives of the man said he was in an annex when the tragedy struck. His wife went out after wood and saw smoke coming out of the annex. She tried to open the door, but it was locked. She called their son, who destroyed the lock with an ax. When they took the man out, he was already dead.
The man had a daughter aged 11 and a boy aged 19.
The firefighters recommend avoiding smoking inside homes, especially in bed.
