Fashion designer Valentina Vidrascu wishes that Moldovan women were proud of the Romanian folk costume with skirts and waists instead of fancying foreign clothes. The designer made this statements for Info-Prim Neo on the occasion of launching two new fall-spring collections inspired by folk costumes and other ethnic motifs. “I've worked for 6 months day and night on the collections Flowers Fall and Ileana Cosanzeana* Deluxe. For 14 years I have been working to promote the Romanian national costume. We have wonderful traditions and I stubbornly fight to defend them against the passing of time”, said Valentina Vidrascu. TV host and moderator of the event Nata Albot stated that Valentina Vidrascu saved the national heritage of costumes from disappearing through her brand “La Blouse Roumaine”. “Valentina likes genuineness. She makes clothes from silk, veil, velvet- all natural. Her models' hair, nails, eyelids- natural as well. They even use natural perfumes. Valentina understands that beauty is passing and does her best to preserve it as long as possible”, said Nata Albot. Singer Natalia Gordienco wore a dress from the Ileana Cosanzeana Deluxe collection at the launching of her new album. She recalls that during a concert in Moscow, she heard words of fascination by her dress from the public. Valentina Vidrascu worked as a guide and translator for Romanians visiting the Soviet Union. In 1997, she opened the Viva Models Agency and schools of models and a fashion studio two years later. After internships at model agencies and fashion studios in the Czech Republic and Great Britain, she created her own style, her own brand and expanded her business to Bucharest. {* Ileana Cosanzeana is a popular character in Romanian fairy tales}
