The Moldovan agricultural producers will benefit from support within the ENPARD (European Neighborhood Program for Agriculture and Rural Development) program that is aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of products on the EU market, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said in a meeting with members of the Association of Agricultural Producers that involved Agriculture Minister Vasile Bumacov, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Government, the Premier said that European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Dacian Ciolos will pay a visit to Chisinau this October. In the same period, there will be held a conference of agriculture ministers from the EU member states and the EaP member states.
“It will be a useful exercise for us all. This event will enable us to learn from the best development practices used by our colleagues in the agricultural sector,” stated Iurie Leanca.
The members of the Association of Agricultural Producers spoke about the barriers that hamper the development of agriculture and the lack of specialists, while the Premier said that agriculture and rural development are strategic development sectors that are among the Government’s priorities.
