The Moldovan farmers who want to raise loans in advantageous conditions within the program “Moldova’s Orchard” will benefit from technical assistance in designing business plans and hastening the investment projects. The announcement was made in the first meeting of the Board of Supervisors of the technical assistance in support of the implementation of activities carried out by “Moldova’s Orchard”, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, Minister Liviu Volconovici in the meeting welcomed the provision of technical assistance after the signing of the contract between the European Investment Bank and the Government of Moldova in July 2014, based on which a loan of €120 million lei was provided. By training and experience exchange, the beneficiaries will be helped to develop agricultural businesses.
“They will learn to write a business plan, to work out investment projects and to develop capacities for absorbing this loan. The beneficiaries will include fruit, walnut, berry and table grape producers and processing enterprises,” stated the minister.
According to Liviu Volconovici, 10% of the loans within the program are intended for education and science. The goal is to contribute to improving the training of personnel according to the labor market requirements. “By engaging the education institutions, we make effort to create that connection between the labor market and the education sector. It is important to emphasize the necessity of adjusting the professional training for the agricultural sector, either it is about ordinary workers or highly-qualified specialists,” stated Liviu Volconovici.
“The technical assistance will increase the visibility of financial possibilities and will extend the range of services of support for final beneficiaries. We will cooperate with players from the sector, starting with consultancy organizations and ending with expert associations, so as to consolidate the capacities and accelerate the investment projects and to pilot innovatory activities,” said Iurie Brumărel, executive director of the Project Implementation Unit.
The representatives of the consultancy company expressed their readiness to share the most efficient methods of training and to provide efficient informational support in the process of implementing the technical assistance.
