Farmers owning plots beyond Rabnita-Tiraspol roadway have their debts cancelled

The Parliament has cancelled Thursday, October 5, the debts due by the farmers owning plots beyond Rabnita-Tiraspol motorway, territory controlled by the separatist regime, to the state social insurance budget for 2005. According to deputy minister of Health and Social Protection, Victor Mandru, the draft law intends to alleviate the social-economical condition of agricultural producers who aren’t able to farm their plots situated in the security zone and thus cannot pay their debts to the state social insurance budget. The debts due for 2005 amount to MDL 55 thousand, of which 20 thousand belong to individual peasant farms from Cocieri village and over 17 thousand to those from Parata village. The lost incomes as result of the cancellation, worth 121.4 thousand, will be compensated from the state budget. The incomes gained by agricultural producers as result of the annulment will be considered tax exempted. The issue concerning residents of Dorotcaia and neighboring villages appeared in the autumn of 2004 pursuant to the prohibition by the breakaway regime to farm plots beyond Rabnita-Tiraspol motorway. In April 2006, the peasants were forced to sign individual contracts with the separatist authorities.
