The Cahul District Council on August 30 will hold a farmers’ market for the agricultural producers from the district. Fruit, vegetables and table grapes will be sold in the Square of Round Dances in Cahul town, IPN reports.
According to the Council’s official website, the fair is staged to help the farmers overcome the difficulties encountered after Russia imposed a ban on imports from Moldova. The event is aimed at strengthening the network for supplying horticultural products on the local market.
Russia stopped importing Moldovan fruit and vegetables, arguing they are infected with the Oriental moth.
