The National Farmers Federation of Moldova demands approving a common tax in agriculture of 1.85 lei per bal/hectare. This is almost twice lower than the tax proposed by the Government – 3.1 lei, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Federation, the approval of the common tax suggested by the farmers will stimulate them to intensify work in the field. On the other hand, the farmers said a double tax will exert increased financial pressure on them.
The Federation’s chairman Valeriu Cosarciuc said the farmers are urgently in need of support from the state, especially because in the recent past they were several times struck by such natural disasters as drought and frost.
