Representatives of the Association “Force of Farmers” announced that they will have a meeting with the head of the Parliament’s commission for agriculture and food industry Alexandr Trubca on Monday and they are hopeful that Speaker Igor Grosu will also attend the meeting, IPN reports.

“After the minister of agriculture and food industry suddenly abandoned the preliminary agreements with representatives of associations, the country’s administration with delay, but partially reacted to the protesting farmers’ request to have an urgent dialogue,” stated the farmers.

Representatives of the Association noted that they will try today to set meetings with Prime Minister Dorin Recean and the administration of the National Bank of Moldova.

Only members of the Board of the Association “Force of Farmers” come to Chisinau today, December 4.

About two weeks ago, the farmers brought their tractors to the central square of Chisinau, addressing a number of demands to the authorities. They said they will wait for a response from the authorities and, if their demands are ignored, they will travel with their tractors through the capital city. Last week, Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, said the moratorium on the calculation of penalties by banks and the forced execution proposed by the Association “Force of Farmers” cannot be imposed as the Republic of Moldova doesn’t have legislation based on which the authorities can institute such a form of support.
