Farmers can apply for funding for works that prevent erosion, restore fertility and protect the soil. The state covers 80% of the costs, but not more than 800,000 lei. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry has launched the call for applications, IPN reports.
The advance subsidies will be granted for investment projects aimed at soil improvement and protection, erosion prevention and combating, conservation and improvement of soil fertility on agricultural land.
The applicants for subsidies can be legal/natural persons or territorial administrative units of the first level, which own, possess or use land.
The payments will be made in two installments. According to the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA), the first installment constitutes 70% of the value of the subsidy, which will be paid upon the presentation of evidence of co-financing by the beneficiary in a proportion of at least 20% of the value of the investment project. The second installment represents 30% of the value of the subsidy and will be paid when the object of the investment is made available for use and supporting documents are presented.
Applications can be submitted by April 25 to the Agency’s offices in the area where the applicant will make the investment. The package of necessary documents is available from the AIPA’s website.
