The access to the Leușeni border crossing point was barred at 10:35 a.m. amidst the protests mounted by farmers, the Border Police has said. The movement of vehicles is blocked and joint teams of the General Border Police Inspectorate, the Hâncești Police Inspectorate and the National Public Security Inspectorate maintain public order at the scene.
Travelers are advised to opt in advance for the available alternatives, such as the Sculeni, Costești or Leova-Bumbăta border crossing points.
The protesting farmers blocked the access to the Leușeni customs posts the previous days as well. At a press conference on Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, said that they didn’t receive any demand from the protesting farmers. He also said that the Ministry is ready to have a dialogue with all farmers, IPN reports.
