The head of the Main State Tax Inspectorate Ion Prisacaru is concerned about the fact that managers of large farms and exporting companies resort to different illegal schemes in order to avoid paying taxes, IPN reports.
In an interview for the paper “Panorama”, Ion Prisacaru expressed his surprise at the fact that only 5% of the fruit produced in the country had been bought from large farms last year, according to documents. The other fruit was purchased from private individuals. This can be explained only by the implementation of illegal schemes.
“When purchasing raw material, the producers and buyers often use names of dead persons in order to hide a large part of the sold harvest. Ghost companies are used to hide the real production volume,” said Ion Prisacaru. He urged the producers to abandon such practices that cause damage to the state and the recipients of social benefit.
The head of the Main State Tax Inspectorate informed that in August he provided the law enforcement bodies with a list of 69 exporting companies that are suspected of causing damage of several million lei to the state.
