The farmers are encouraged to invest in quality and postharvest and to start work with shop chains. The call was made in the general assembly of the Farmers Federation of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
According to the Federation’s executive director Aurelia Bondari, the farmers should be educated so that they start to work with supermarket chains, which impose very strict conditions concerning the quality. At the same time, state policies to facilitate the development of the market and to stimulate farmers to export are needed.
Secretary of state at the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Veaceslav Cernat said the authorities sim to support by policies initiatives that refer to postharvest, processing of agricultural and animal products. Most of the reported problems refer to the milk sector.
