Farm product prices rose 42% year-on-year
In 2010 agricultural products rose in price by over 42% on the the previous year. According to data of the National Statistics Bureau, in 2010 the highest price rises were registered for sunflower seeds, grapes, grains and pulses, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The average price paid by state-run agricultural companies for sunflower seeds rose by over 89%, for grapes by 80%, for grains and pulses by 60% and for fresh fruit by 50%.
Milk and chicken eggs rose in price by 12% and 6%, respectively.
A significant hike in agrifood products was registered in October 2010. This was particularly the case of vegetal products.
At the same time the prices of live cattle and swine decreased by 14% and 1%, respectively.
